Cardiff University’s Centre for Community Journalism would like to invite you to our biennial conference on the topic: Building the Future of Community Journalism #BFCJ18.
The Centre will be hosting the one-day ideas exchange at Cardiff’s iconic Pierhead building on Thursday, January 11th and is free for all who wish to attend, with lunch and refreshments included.
The day will bring together community journalists, academics, policymakers, innovators and technologists to explore the future of the sector, celebrate its recent successes, hear from its most ardent practitioners, and share ideas, skills and tools to help build the next generation of community and hyperlocal news.
The day will culminate with the official launch of the Independent Community News Network (ICNN) the first representative body of its kind in the UK. The launch will take place in the state-of-the-art Welsh Assembly building (Senedd).
Although further event details are yet to be confirmed, the day is guaranteed to be enlightening, inspiring and underpinned by active participation.
