The ICNN Advisory Board has met regularly during the last year.
At January’s meeting, the advisory board unanimously agreed to support the proposal to form a CIC limited by guarantee with a large membership, once ICNN separates from Cardiff University this summer.”
Sample constitutions were discussed – there are examples here
The terms of what will be the ICNN constitution are now being reviewed in detail by a sub-committee.
e.g. there has been agreement already that the quorum for meetings should not be as low as two directors, as indicated. Several board members have experience of CICs and are helping with the finer details.
Work to form the new organisation is now underway with a target launch date of July this year.
Board members felt there should be an annual in-person AGM, coinciding with a conference. This would recognise the importance of the social and peer support aspects of membership, as well as creating opportunities for learning new skills etc. There could also be awards, which would create revenue as well as raising our profile and recognising members’ work.
We will keep members up to speed with monthly updates here, newsletters to all members and updates on the Facebook page.
In the meantime if anyone has any queries or suggestions please email the Chair of the advisory board Julian Calvert: [email protected]
The next board meeting is online on 12 February 2026.
