ICNN welcomes its first official member: West Leeds Dispatch
By Matt Abbott | 3rd Aug 2017
ICNN is proud to announce West Leeds Dispatch as its first official member.
It was also one of the first publishers to successfully adopt the free WordPress theme we developed for community publishers, and since its founding two years ago has grown into an indispensable and respected news source in the west Leeds community.
Editor John Baron said: “I’m really proud The Dispatch is the first community news publisher in the country to sign up to be part of this exciting new network.
“ICNN shares our values that local news should be independent, community-focused, and should provide a high standard of quality public interest news.
“We look forward to being part of a network that will fight to promote the sustainability and interests of community publishers like us across the country.”
The Dispatch is a member of independent regulator Impress, and recently founded a company called West Leeds Community Media to help manage and develop the West Leeds Dispatch.
