Your Thurrock has specialised in producing hyperlocal video content, so it seems apt that founder Michael Casey has not written a guest blog post for C4CJ, but has vlogged for us instead! Michael explains why he thinks video is so important, especially when it comes to capturing council meetings – and the non-verbal content which cannot be distilled into a live blog or tweet. He also shares his thoughts on the recent BBC consultation, and why he is hopeful this will develop into a more meaningful partnership between hyperlocal news sites and the corporation.
